SIMON OTT, LLC offers online and in-person consulting & coaching for most areas of home repairs and renovation.
Home renovation can be daunting, especially if you’re trying to do it yourself. The internet is full of advice, but much of it is from people who spend more time building “content” than actually doing renovation. Not helpful.
When you’re ready to give up on YouTube, I’m here to help you make your renovation vision a reality. I’ll save you time, money, and frustration by giving you solid advice based on my 25+ years of experience.
I’ve honed my skills as a fine craftsman, and, working on old houses and buildings all these years, I’ve also become an expert troubleshooter. And, although I’ve worked on plenty of newer homes, you might call me an “old house whisperer.”

20-Minute Phone Call. Ask me anything about your renovation project for up to 20-minutes. Available for new and returning clients.
$65

Via Zoom, FaceTime, or phone—your preference.
Initial Consultation: $150 for first 1-hour appointment.
Follow-up Consultations: $95/hour

Available for central Oklahoma; pricing is for Shawnee-area:
Initial Consultation: $250 for one on-site visit for up to 2 hours + a one-time follow-up phone call of up to 20-minutes.
Follow-up consultations: $95 per hour, 2-hour minimum charge (follow-ups can also be made via phone; see pricing above).

If your project is very lengthy/in-depth (i.e. whole house remodel, etc.), you may arrange your consultations/coaching on a retainer basis, or you can set up a weekly session and pay by the month.

Payment for online consulting must be made at the time of scheduling.
Payment for in-person consultations should be paid at the time of scheduling to hold your appointment.
No refunds given for cancellations; cancellations with at least 48-hours notice may be rescheduled one time.
In-person consultations: if I have time, and you choose to run over your scheduled time, you must be prepared to pay for any time overage immediately following the consultation.
Remote consultations: if you need more time you must book another appointment.
You are required to sign a contract indemnifying me against all liability for the work executed on your project. SIMON OTT, LLC assumes no liability for work executed by you or other parties nor for municipal code adherence. This is for consulting only, not contracting.
After the hourly minimum is reached, time is calculated by the quarter hour.
Travel fees apply for any location outside of a 20-minute drive from my shop in Shawnee, OK.

How it works
Message me about your project using the form below.
A team member will work with you by email to schedule the right kind of appointment and, once that is set up, will send you an invoice that you can pay online. Payment is always due prior to your consultation.
If you have photos or, better yet, a video walk-through of your project, send that my way so that I can be up to speed prior to your appointment.
For Remote/Online Consultations: you’ll be given my number when you schedule your appointment so that you can call or FaceTime at your scheduled time. For Zoom, I’ll send you a session link via email. Please remember that your appointment starts on time even if you are late.
For In-person Consultations: all of the above applies except that I’ll meet you at the job site and the clock starts upon my arrival.
Preparation: it’s a good idea to have your questions ready—even written out—so that you get the most out of your appointment. You are responsible for taking notes. I do not provide follow-up transcripts, sketches, or plans (unless we’ve arranged otherwise at an additional cost).
More Time: It’s easy to go over time on consultations, and I always want to answer all the questions you have. Since I have many clients and appointments are often booked back to back, I have to adhere to a strict schedule. For IN-PERSON consultations, if I have time in my schedule and you wish to extend the appointment, you are responsible to pay for any additional time as soon as the appointment is completed—a square invoice will be issued on site, or you can pay the additional amount by check (calculated by the quarter hour after the minimum). For REMOTE consultations, running past time is not possible, but you may schedule another appointment—just tell me and someone will reach out via email to schedule another appointment.
Sessions are casual and relaxed. Just tell me what you’ve got going on and I’ll help you sort it out and get you going in the right direction.
